New CANopen/Ethernet Integrated Stepper Motors from Applied Motion Products

Watsonville, CA– Applied Motion Products is pleased to announce that it has expanded it’s successful line of Integrated Step Motors to include CANopen and Ethernet communication versions.

New CANopen/Ethernet Integrated Step Motors

The STM is a Drive+Motor+Control unit, fusing step motor and drive technologies into a single device, offering savings on space, wiring and cost over conventional motor and drive solutions.

Communication options include: RS232, RS485, CANopen, Ethernet and Ethernet/IP.  Models are CE marked, and RoHS Compliant.

New High Torque Hybrid Stepper Motors from Applied Motion Products

Applied Motion Products of Watsonville, CA are pleased to release details on their NEW HT24 series of high torque hybrid stepper motors.

AMP's New High Torque Hybrid Stepper Motors

The HT24 motors are a new frame size step motor offering up to 30% more torque than the previous HT23 series in a similar package size. The only significant difference in size between an HT23 and HT24 is that the HT24 has a larger shaft diameter.

HT24 motors are ideal for applications where more power is required but changing to a size 34 motor is not possible.

HT24 motors are available with single or dual shafts, and all motors are optimized for microstepping.

Motorized Linear Stages provide 0.1 µm resolution

Available in 13 and 28 mm travel versions with metric or imperial mounting holes, Zaber’s T-LS Series can be controlled manually or through RS232 or USB ports.   Units can be used in X-Y or X-Y-Z configuration with AB90 angle brackets.

Applied Motion Products adds CANopen option to SV Servo Motor Drives

WATSONVILLE, CA – Applied Motion Products announces an increase in the range of CANopen products by the addition of CANopen communications to the SV series Step Motor Drives. Adding a CANopen option to the SV series Servo Drives adds a third drive to Applied Motions list of CANopen compatible products, with more to come.

AMP's SV Servo Drives with CANopen

The SV drive develops 7A continuous and 14A peak and has eight digital inputs, four digital outputs and two analog inputs.

SV CANopen drives have Applied Motion’s Q programming language on board. This has the added advantage that Q programs written and stored in the drive and then a command can be sent over the CANopen network to trigger the program. The user can also read and write to registers over the CAN Network changing parameters within the stored Q program.

Applied Motion Products adds CANopen option to ST Step Motor Drives

Applied Motion Products announces the addition of CANopen communications to the ST series Step Motor Drives.

AMP's ST5 Stepper Drive with CANopen

The addition of a CANopen option card to the range of communication options allows the drives to be controlled by a CANopen master utilizing the DS301 and DSP402 communications protocols and the CAN 2.0b Passive physical layer. Using these standard protocols the drive can be commanded to execute point to point moves, homing routines or run at a set velocity. ST CANopen Drives are available in 5A and 10A versions. Each has eight digital inputs, four digital outputs and two analog inputs. ST drives are configured using ST Configurator software.

CANopen is utilized by OEM machine builders to integrate many devices of different types on a single field bus connection. Drives such as the ST can be put on the same network as sensors and interfaces. The user then has a single learning curve to develop programs that can communicate to all compatible devices. Up to 132 devices can be connected on a single CANopen Network.

Harsh Environment Brushless Servo Motor

Maxon’s EC22HT motor is designed to withstand harsh environments, such as extreme temperatures, high shock loads and vibrations, as well as high ambient pressure or vacuum. Even submerged operation in oil is possible.

Maxon's EC22 High Temperature/Shock Servo Motor

Faultless operation has been demonstrated in an extended ambient temperature range of -55°C up to 200°C – all internal components are designed to withstand temperatures of at least 240°C.

External shock loads and vibrations can be absorbed over the entire temperature range without damaging the motor.

The motor is available both with and without Hall sensors. If required Hall sensors come as a package added to the back of the motor in a similar style to that of an encoder.
