Acme Screw or Ball Screw Driven Linear Motion:
The Lintech 100 series linear positioning slides are designed to maximize performance while minimizing physical size and cost. These linear slides use a low friction, preloaded, recirculating linear ball bearing system, which ride on precision ground linear square rail guide. The linear profile rails are mounted to a precision machined aluminum base, which offers a rigid support over the entire travel of the table’s carriage. The load is mounted to a precision machined aluminum carriage, which has threaded stainless steel inserts for high strength and wear life.

There are 30 different acme & ball screw options, that offer high efficiencies and long life at an economical price. These linear positioning tables are designed to allow for numerous options. Screw Driven Positioning Stages

Lintech Ball Bushing Variations & Drop-in Replacements

Lintech’s offering of linear ball bushings and pillow blocks has grown significantly over the years to include inch closed, inch open, European metric closed, European metric open, Japanese closed and Japanese open styles.  The “closed” styles mean that the bushing circles the precision shaft completely and the shaft is held in place at both ends.  The “open” style means that the shaft is supported from the bottom and, therefore, there is a slot in the bushing to account for the support rail.

There are a number of companies manufacturing ball bushings and pillow block bushings for precision linear shafting.  Lintech provides on its website, a drop-in replacement chart for all styles offered so you can determine the Lintech drop-in part number for other suppliers.  See below the drop-in replacement chart for the LBC linear ball bearing.

Positioning Stages for Vacuum Applications

Lintech custom vacuum stageLintech provides many different sized positioning tables, each available with lots of standard options.  One option which is not described much in any Lintech literature is that most of the screw driven tables offered can be supplied, in a customized variation, to meet some pretty significant vacuum environments.  Lintech has made many positioning tables for vacuum applications.  All of the standard components not already able to withstand vacuum environments can be substituted for the appropriate stainless product.

Lintech builds vacuum capable tables utilizing modified standard models or with complete custom designs.  As usual, the customer just needs to supply the application requirements and then Lintech try to use a “standard” table if suitable; otherwise a custom will be offered.

A Rotary Stage is a mechanical component of a motion system used to rotate an object in a single axis or plane of rotation.  The terms rotary stage or rotary table are often used interchangeably with rotary stage.  All rotary stages consist of a platform and a base, joined by some form of bearing or guide in such a way that the platform is restricted to rotation about a single axis or plane with respect to the base.  In common usage, the term rotary stage may or may not also include the mechanism by which the angular position of the platform is controlled relative to the base.

Rotary Stages use a precision machined worm gear assembly and either ball, cross roller, or angular contact bearings to support the table top load.  The selection of different gear ratios allow for either high resolution or high speed in a low profile package.  The use of any step motor or servo motor system to drive rotary tables is a key advantage since it allows the use of a preferred motion control system.
